LOOSE BLADES

In the somewhat unlikely case anyone reading this was thinking about writing to Ringo Starr in the near future, or perhaps wanted him to sign something for them - best to first watch his message to you.

Thanks for that funny link, looks like he is sitting in some retirement home (for old musicians, maybe? :-) )

If ever a public plea was actually an incitement to be sent a load of annoying crap, that has got to be it.

Well, shit. Who's going to sign these exhumed bones of John Lennon and George Harrison, then?

This is probably one of those things, that i should avoid revealing in public, but i actually had to google the name to find oiut why anyone would write this strange person first place...

didn't Richard Meltzer used to send his garbage to people anonymously? filling in the return address on the parcel with his target's name and address and using no stamp, so the postage would be 'returned' to his target.

... I agree with this man a hundred percent. If I were in his shoes, I'd probably be sick to death of my 'fans'.

Side note: my father worked with a drummer, and every time someone pissed him off, he replied with "God bless you". Later, I realized this was his way of saying "I fucking hate you".

So "Peace And Love".

He sure does talk about peace and love a lot, especially when in fact he is saying "Fuck you" to all and sundry.

I can't imagine anyone doing that without being seriously ill, even terminal. Of course, this being A Beatle, he's never going to let that information out. But I would not be surprised if we hear old Ringo has transcended in the next couple of years. The man is very nearly 70 years old.

Is he that guy who used to narrate some children's TV show about talking trains?

weird how *that's* what you know him for, richo. Yeh, he used to do the Thomas stuff. But he was the drummer for the Beatles. I'm old enough that it's weird to have to explain that.

It must be very weird to have to say "fuck right off, all of you" after being made a fortune, and ability to do anything you want ( as long as it isn't in public.)

Only thing said to be worse, is fame without the fortune to insulate you from the fame.

And what does every young person want so badly nowadays, to be famous.

Thats got to be fucking awful.

And yes, he's asking for it, full stop. Best comment. Too too utterly divine. Well done.
